Flights

You have several airport options, all with their own pros and cons. We recommend booking your flights 2-3 months in advance for the best pricing.

Double-check which airport you are flying to before purchasing. There are many airports around Gainesville. Google Flights will show you all airports even when searching for a specific one!

GNV (Gainesville Regional Airport)

10 minutes from downtown, most convenient, $$$

Note: GNV is a small regional airport, so flights can be more expensive and may have a layover (usually in Atlanta or Charlotte).

JAX (Jacksonville International Airport)

1.5-hour drive to Gainesville, $$

JAX is a great mid-range option. It's a larger airport with more direct flights and generally better pricing than GNV. You will need to rent a car for the drive.

MCO (Orlando International Airport)

2-hour drive to Gainesville, $

MCO will almost always have the most flight options and the cheapest prices. You will need a rental car for the drive.

TPA (Tampa International Airport)

2-hour drive to Gainesville, $

Similar to Orlando, TPA is a large, affordable airport. Easier drive than Orlando, need a rental car.

Getting Around

Shuttle Service

We are in the process of coordinating a shuttle service for Saturday, May 30th.

Our plan is to have shuttles run from the primary hotels → ceremony at the Baughman Center → reception at the Thomas Center → hotels or to the after-party location at the end of the night.

We kindly ask that you please check back here in early 2026 as we finalize the routes and schedule.

Rental Cars & Ridesharing

For the rest of your stay, Gainesville is a small city, but things are spread out. Renting a car (especially if you fly into JAX, MCO, or TPA) is highly recommended.

Uber and Lyft are also common and relatively inexpensive for inner-city trips.

Accomodations

Hotels

We are currently working to reserve hotel blocks at a few hotels in town that are conveniently located near our reception venue.

Please check back here by early 2026 for finalized details and booking links.

For those who wish to book early, we recommend looking at hotels or lovely AirBnBs in the historic Duckpond or Bed & Breakfast Row neighborhoods, which are both charming and within walking distance of the Thomas Center.

Things to Do in "The Swamp"

If you have extra time, here are a few of our favorite things to do in Gainesville!

Explore Downtown Gainesville

Some of Delaney's favorite spots are in the heart of downtown, like Maude's for an amazing raspberry mocha iced coffee, Flaco's for the best burrito in town, Palomino's for pool and beers, or Satchel's Pizza for a quirky artsy dinner experience.

Walk UF's Campus

Stroll through the beautiful brick buildings, see the real "Swamp" (Ben Hill Griffin Stadium), and visit Lake Alice.

Explore Payne's Prairie

See wild alligators, bison, and horses from the observation tower on Highway 441. For a real taste of the gator scene, walk La Chua Trail to see dozens of gators!

Visit the Harn Museum of Art

The Harn Museum features a beautiful collection of contemporary and modern art, historical artifacts, and beautiful architecture. Next door to the Natural History Museum and Butterfly Rainforest, there's plenty to see around campus!
